These terms apply to use of this website and to roofing work carried out by Alex Smith, trading as Alex Mac Roofing, 5 Gray St, Elsecar, Barnsley S74 8JR.

Surveys and quotes are free and carry no obligation. A written quote sets out the work included. If hidden problems are found once work starts (for example rotten timbers under the covering), I will show you and agree any extra cost with you before carrying it out.

Full re-roofs carry a 25-year guarantee and repairs carry a 12-month guarantee, covering the workmanship described in your quote. Guarantees don't cover damage from storms, accidents, third-party work or lack of reasonable maintenance.

I hold £2 million public liability insurance.

You agree to provide reasonable access to the property. Roofing work depends on the weather, and start dates may move for safety reasons; I'll keep you informed.

If you agree a contract at your home, you may have a 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. If you ask for work to start within that period, you may be charged for work already done.
